Crocodilian Four Chambered Hearts

Most reptiles have a three chambered heart. Most mammals have a four chambered heart. However, crocodilians have a four chambered heart that is even more advanced than our own. It is capable of shunting blood to different parts of the body depending on need. For example blood may be shunted away from the digestive system to the tail and leg muscles during an emergency.
